Barber Festival

Post by malcolmgb » Sat Sep 24, 2016 4:33 pm

Is anyone planning to visit Barber Festival this year?

I will be there with a friend who is giving a talk about the British Motorcycle factory records held by the Vintage Motorcycle Club here in the UK.

We fly into Washington on the 2nd October and will drive down to Birmingham on the Wednesday stopping over in the the Maggie Valley area to visit the Wheels Through Time Museum on Thursday.

If anyone is going and would like to meet up that would be good.

We'll be in swap meet spots A11-12.

I'll have the reproduction CL72/77 fenders available, for both early and late models.

Stop by.

Hi Mark

Could your tooling make an alloy front fender for CB72/77?

I've had quite a few inquiries for the alloy fenders. When we were first setting up we tried one out of .024 3003 H-14, with poor success . The problem is our machine takes around 15 passes to get the proper radius. Check out the video below. H-14 work hardens pretty quick, so we got a lot of wrinkling and then tearing. I've got the tooling out right now to run a different fender for the Hummers and K Models. When we finish up this run, I'll tool back up for the CL's and experiment with some different alloys and hardness.
