Motor Paint for CB and CL 77 restore?

Post by nkarshna » Mon Aug 14, 2006 11:35 pm

Does anyone know for sure if the Krylon Dull Aluminum paint (per Bill Silvers Book) will hold up to the heat of the engine? and If so would it be a accurate restore if I used it on the bottom end of the engine not just the case covers? Thanks

It holds up with the heat and can be touched up when required.
The head/cylinders/and cases were not painted with anything. ...........lm

Thanks for the advise. So the whole engine wasn't painted with anything? What would you use?

The engines I rebuild have sand cast parts which can be blasted with sharp glass followed with round glass. ......................lm

If someone didn't have the tools or access to such things, what would your recommend for cosmetic upgrade on the engine?
sandblast or bust?
