After doing some searches, it seems the correct battery for a '66 CB77 is a Yuasa 12N9-3A. My bike came to me with a Walmart knockoff 12N9-4B. It appears the only real difference is that the + - terminal positions are reversed. Judging by the state of the cables, it could very well be that the 12N9-4B battery is incorrect and installed by the P.O. based on price or availability.
Because I am going to remake the battery cables and purchase a new battery, I need to know the correct orientation of the battery terminals.
Right side of the bike or left?
Positive + to the front or rear?
If someone knows for certain, I'm all ears. Well in this case all eyes.
Thanks.

Thanks LM.
The P.O. put in the wrong battery.
His remedy for that was to make the battery cables wrong.
Don't ya just love people?!

Re: Battery question...
What you have is common as folks didn't want to pay the price or couldn't find the correct battery. ................lm

agm battery
http://www.amazon.com/MotoBatt-MB9U-Fac ... B0042LLB88
a low-amp battery tender is recommended, regular battery charger will fry it...
will last way longer than a stock lead-acid Yuasa...

'62 CB77. "It's a rider."
Re: agm battery
Those look good but weigh 8 lbs. When this one dies I will probably probably go for a Li-Ion for the weight saving.
