Here is a link to one source for the rectifier/regulator which works with all 12 volt permanent magnet alternator Hondas. This topic has been covered extensively here and on other mc sites. Use the search feature to see how others have done this upgrade.

I put the yellow and pink wires from the stator together.

Seadog, Just for clarity, I think bridging the yellow and pink wires is ok if your using a regulator/rectifier unit, but it appears that Eric is using just the rectifier. My concern is that without regulation overcharging will occur when the lights are switched off. It seems these old bikes either undercharge or overcharge and seldom anything in between.

Thanks, revlover, you're right of course. For some reason I thought the OP was installing a rectifier/regulator, which seems the better solution to charging problems.

My variation on this.

I bought a 3 pack of the regulators/rectifiers off eBay...

Luckily I'm also a computer repair guy so I have various old heat sinks hanging around...(and my wife said I'd never use them...pshaww :) )

Or you can 'hide' it inside the old metal plate rectifier like this.
Mine's been like that for a couple of years and works fine.
