Hello,
My neutral light works fine as long as the motor is not too hot. But after some 15 minutes of riding, when the motor warms up, the light doesn't work anymore. Any ideas on what could be the problem? Thanks! (cb77)

Neutral light not working only when motor hot

I'd like to get an answer to that myself.Mine works intermittently also.I took the switch out and cleaned it but still the same result.
Re: neutral light
The light should have constant power, and when shifted to nuetral, the switch makes the ground. You may want to test the light, make sure it has power when it isn't working, and that will isolate the problem to the switch. Mike, did you take the switch apart, or just clean the outside?mike1969 wrote:I'd like to get an answer to that myself.Mine works intermittently also.I took the switch out and cleaned it but still the same result.

Thanks Davo - I'll run the check on the light. I didn't realize it always had current. Interesting. I learn something new everyday on this forum!

Re: Neutral light
Your welcome! It makes sense that it's easier to make a switch that grounds, than one that provides power. The electric start buttom is similar, in that it makes a ground to engage the starter motorGG wrote:Thanks Davo - I'll run the check on the light. I didn't realize it always had current. Interesting. I just took mine apart to get to the sludge that was everywhere and found the lead was hanging on by one brittle grungy copper strand. I looked at it sideways and it broke ;) Solder solder. I couldn't press the sides of the case back enough to hold it together, so I employed the services of some super glue.
