Hey all, I've fried two lithium ion batteries cause they are so sensitive to over voltage charging, the cb77 never had a voltage regulator because it used the led acid battery to regulate I assume, so anyone know where I should start when trying to wire in a newer cb 12v regulator ?
Thanks

Hiil
You could go the minimalist route and fit one of these.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lucas-12v-Zen ... 7675.l2557
Just regulates the battery voltage by chopping anything above a nominal 12v (prob 13.6 ish)

G-man, that sounds Great, I actually found out a buddy has that rectifier/regulator I posted a link to above, I'm going to try it out and take some readings with the multimeter. Ill report back soon! P.s. check out my post on my "speedo resto" thread. Posted a new odo rebuild

If you use a Lucas zener diode, it won't work for you unless it's negative ground. The one in the ebay ad appears to be positive ground, since the heat sink is off a '68-'70 Triumph. Get the one for the late T140(750ccs), it's negative ground.
