Hello Mike
Graham has answered the questions, unfortunately I am a bit away from Norfolk, near Edinburgh. If you don't want to fit a new end to what you have I will see what I have.

Re: CL crank
I can probably find you a fresh crank end and fit it for you if your Engineering shop cannot help.

I got the crank yesterday afternoon and pulled off the generator side web. The big end cage looked a bit horrible and one or two rollers were damaged but the rod and big end pin looked fine.

I didn't have a CL77 generator-side web so I used a CB77 part and blocked off the oil hole.

Having done that side I decided that I couldn't leave the other side of the crank untouched. The other big end had the same nasty-looking wear on the cage but the rollers looked fine. In went another fresh cage after a good clean up.

Everything went back nicely and trued up without any drama. It should do the job for the forseeable future.

Re: Cl77 Crank shaft
Haven't been here much since the spam, I have removed several taps and broken bolts over the years with a plasma cutter, pretty much washes the the bolt out with damaging the threads. The tap you just cut through the center.thepunisher2007 wrote: has a tap snapped off in the internal thread which is proving impossible to get out.
thanks

Please do NOT go anywhere near it with a plasma cutter, you could easily wreck it. I have been in the fabrication industry all my life and have many years experience with these machines and would not attempt it on one of my cranks.
I suggest you go to you tube and look at methods of broken tap removal.
Hope this helps, Al.
