I've recently picked up a genuine starter motor to replace the one that was on my bike, which appeared to be some kind of replacement unit and had a huge short within it.
However, I've just tried to fit the sprocket from the old starter motor onto the genuine one, and it won't fit - it is too wide to fit properly onto the spline.
Does anyone have a starter sprocket they would be willing to part with? (Number 16 in the parts diagram):
