WTB - Blown CB Sealed Beam Headlight For Mod

Post by Seadog » Sat Sep 26, 2015 11:57 am

I'm looking for a non-functioning CB sealed beam headlight in otherwise good condition as a candidate for conversion to an H4 base bulb. No trim ring needed.

We all like to put our personal touch on everything we can, but for an alternative, Candlepower Inc. in Maryland has a 6-3/8" (162mm) headlamp for the H4 bulbs. You'll have to perform a bit of cut-off wheel surgery on the brackets that are affixed to fit it into the standard rim, and purchase their 35/35W bulb separately. I've had one on my 1962 CB77 cafe' bike for about five years, and appreciate the superior light pattern and brightness as compared to stock. The lens itself is not quite as convex as stock, so there is a visual difference for the purists. I believe Vince Lupo has one on his bike. If you need a visual, check out his build. Regards, Chase

That's an interesting alternative; thank you, Chase.
