Hi Sarals,
Keep flying, don't stop working on your girl. I finished mine yesterday after one and a half years. I too was afraid to put gas in it and start it up, just knew it was going to leak gas all over the place, however, yesterday I decided it was time. After completing Ed Moore's tune up procedure, putting gas in her, no leaks (yea), kicking her over to get oil up into the passages, with heart pounding, I turned the key on, kicked it twice and she came to life. WOW what a feeling. Had to adjust her attitude a little by fine tuning the carbs. She now has a great outlook on life with her body and face lifted to new standards. We went for a ride and we now have 3.5 miles together. Ya gotta keep working the girl until she done. Nothing else matters until she's breathing life again.

Super, super job. You have accomplished a beautiful restoration, you should be very proud of yourself. I had two new ones right off the showroom floor and yours is the equal to the two of them.

I spent the better part of an afternoon stripping, filling, sanding and prepping the rear fender. Then, I got it in primer, wet sanded (to 1500 grit) and shot it with the Duplicolor GM silver. It's much better than the "repaint" attempt, but it's still not good enough. I'll probably do it again!

I spent about two hours with the wire wheel on the grinder cleaning up the old fasteners and hardware. That made a difference.

At some point I'll stop writing and get this old bike done!
