CL77 front fender - bracketCL77 front fender - bracketHi these brackets are so hard to find I am thinking of getting a few made, could anyone help me with a pattern please - photographs and measurements please????
Thanks in advance - Tara
I have a spare for each type that I could send for a pattern. I need them back........or if they are sacrificed I need one each of the new units. I'll pay the shipping to you if you think you can make a true copy. I have others to fit my current projects so no big hurry to get them back.
Hint.........don't send them to someone in China to copy. If they have any flaws, they will be included in the copy.
Tarat...........I also have 'bobbed' early and late units that could be used for parts. The front loop and the cable-wires are the usual 'cut' items. I repaired a broken front loop with silver-soder and it looked good for a 'rider' CL77. Once you get the parts assembled, the new chrome will be EXPENSIVE.........my guess is $150 each for new metal................and $200 for a re-do on a repaired unit.
If your just looking for one unit..........I could try and repair one of mine. I don't weld, but I have a friend who is an expert. The trick is to have all of the mounting holes lined up on a good fender-blade and a set of forks before making the final welds. I also plan to take several items to be re-chromed and usually get a discount..........especially if multiples of the same item. I am in Wisconsin............where are you? front fenders and support bracketsHi all I am in the UK but I have three CL77s 1965, 66 & 67 all missing fenders and brackets....so thats why I thought I would make the effort, there is a great classic bike place here that carries a lot of the fender profiles or for an affordable surcharge will make the fenders as near as........ but the brackets are trickier I can weld but also know a few people who might fabricate the middle part around the forks and leave me making the tube and support 'plates'......... I also know a good chrome plater who I think would be reasonable if I took 3- 5 supports along........
maybe a chopped one for a pattern and some careful measurements ...drawn over profiles might be the best way to go...... I'd be nervous about being in charge of precious bits for your resto......imagine if they disappeared in the post ! ! I'd be **** upset What do you think??? Thanks Where are you in the UK?
I have perfect CL77 and CL72 brackets and fender blades (not for sale - destined for projects) plus a spare bobbed CL72 bracket, and, at least one spare blade. I get my chroming done at Prestige in Mexborough. ![]() David Silver has a NOS CL77 fender blade at the moment. G '60 C77 '60 C72 '62 C72 Dream '63 CL72

I have one to repair too. Had to weld a cut off muffler a while back and tig welded it back on with stainless 309 filler rod. You had to look real close to tell. I plan on trying this again on a front fender brace. Dick Johnson
