I stand corrected on that then.
They are pressed in on my CL and moved when I had to hammer out my pivot bolt, I was told the CB & CL were the same.

Those are great pictures G Man. I took about 50 shots trying to provide a good visual but was not successful. Your pictures indicate the same type of welds that are on my frame.
The outer dimension comes out at just under 6 and 3/8 inches which converts to approximately 162mm. I had an aha moment last night and as soon as I could get out to the shop this morning I took one of my nylon ratchet straps and wound it around the trailing end of the swing arm. I gave the ratchet a few clicks and the front of the swing arm easily opened up enough to slip over the frame flanges. I don't think I compressed the arm any more than it is when the axle nut is tight.
My brake shoes arrived today. I hope to have the bike up on two wheels tomorrow. So far, it's just a frame and suspension but I still would like to roll it outside and take some pics.

iPhone 6 and our 'sun room' so good conditions for photographs. With the iPhone the pictures are automatically shared to my computer when I get back to it. Sometimes technology just works and it's a joy to use it.
Good trick with the swingarm. You cannot be talking much interference. Maybe someone was able to squash the pivot end by overtightening. I cannot see how, but you never know with these old bikes.

The brake shoes arrived yesterday. I ordered them from Classic Honda Restoration. I noticed Tim signed the invoice. Nice personal touch.

The center stand mounting bolts arrived from Western Hills Honda today. As you can see, the originals were ruined from rubbing against the frame. I've been waiting for the new ones before I start the center stand mounting hole repair. Now I can take my new bolts down to the hardware store and find some proper fitting bushes.

The nuts on those pivots need to be really tight (and stay tight) to stop them moving around.
Maybe a Nordlock washer under the nut would help.....
