I never went into the top or cylinders, so those case parts are still grungy ... next go-round (or if this one fails).
I posted my version of the bridge rectifier mod elsewhere.

Thanks guys.
I'm, taking a few artistic liberties on this project, and may or may not do a "correct" resto next iteration. That's a whole nother chunk 'O change I just don't have.
Ed ... you're prolly gonna roll yer eyes when I post with my new red seat ;)

I don't care what seat ya use.
It's as ya/I know your bike and build it anyway ya like.
My statement was meant to help you AND OTHERS to know what is actually correct color for all Center Stands on the CB72/77 just in case ya forgot or others forget.
CLASSIC BIKE showed a CB77 years back with a RED Center Stand and along came several "RESTORATIONS" with RED CS.
WHY????????
Cause the mag. showed it and it had to be correct!!!. ............lm

I just stand back and look ... "hmm, needs a splash 'O red there ... black here ... yep, looks good".
Today:
installed left clutch case with red oil filter cover :)
horn, carbies (double checked floats and found 1 was 5mm off, corrected ... phew), air inlet tubes, rear brake cable (needs repl. ... too stretched), shifter assy., throttle cable (lower only), last motor mount. I brazed/welded a 115mm socket head bolt (left crankcase cover) to match the others because my local ACE hardware store only had up to 100mm in stainless. That was fun.
Waiting on final drive sprocket, JC whitney handlebars, brake cables, seat, speedo cable.
Need to buy mirrors, hand grips, tail LED's, battery (all local items)
Tomorrow:
fuel lines and filter(s), 15 or so items on punch list, tank rubber, pipes are a possibility ... may even take a stab at firing it up. If so, I'll film it ;)

George: thank you very much!!

Duplicolor DE1615 Aluminum Engine Enamel (3 cans total)
Rustoleum clear enamel (1 can)
Rustoleum high-gloss black lacquer (1 can)
Jugs and head are the only unpainted parts
