Still soaking in evaporust. Started out clear yellowish and has now turned dark brown so I am guessing it is doing something.

And because I am burning money on this project, I just picked up a seized complete motor for $100

Looks like I am on the hunt for new rims as well. Took them in to the plater. Rust is really bad on them, especially the rear. Was quoted 650/750 a wheel for stripping, grinding, polishing and replating

Well picked up some parts. Picked up the engine, also picked up a front wheel that is in much better shape than mine (also gave me 2 rear rims, spokes cut), a front brake lever. Still need a good rear rim.

Finally got my clutch cover off and started diss-assembly there. Question. Above the centrifugal oil seperator I see what looks like spider webbing. Can't tell if they are cracks. What do you guys think

Those are actually just imperfections in the casting. Nothing to worry about.

Thanks guys. Going to attempt camshaft diss assembly tonight. IS there a detailed writeup here somewhere?
