honda mf 350, where to start

Post by alan curtis » Mon Dec 13, 2010 3:44 pm

hi every body, making a start on the mf, this bike i got as spares for my honda m e 250, but when i found out it was a 350, thought it was worth the extra mile to repair it, i like to keep bike's in one lump, till all the repairs are done, as the speedo was in a bad way, this is where i will start, so out with it and send it of to a specialist . http://www.guagerepairs.com/ the guy has striped it, and is in the process of having a rim turned in stainless steel.

send of the engine and frame numbers to honda uk, which they sent on to honda japan, it came back as a 1956, and gave me a dating letter to aid registration.
also send the winger lense off to http://www.claussstudios.com/index.html to be remade as the one on the left is a very good pattern, we did think that the lense was a after market item, but going throught some 1950's mags found an advert for the M F 350.

That's a cool bike. Are the hubs steel? The rear one looks rusted over. Keep us updated on the resto.
