Finally got new spokes - Buchanan stainless with nipples - I polished the spokes and nipples and assembled on a new rim. Got a new Firestone tire - blackwall - only $35 for a blackwall - $145 for whitewall - deciding on the blackwall was easy.

Got all this temporarily mounted to the front end to see what it looks like. Now waiting for the seat and will start on the back wheel - new rim, spokes and tire. Kind of slow but unsure.

You say you're waiting for the seat. Where did you send it and what are they doing for you? One of the only things we don't know how to proceed with is our seat. It was previously recovered and is ugly (not gonna fit in with the resto we're doing), but the pan etc are original. We're looking at our options. See, we went with the Whitewall Firestones, so we have little left for doing the seat. ;-)

I have a local fellow that used to do most of the Harley seats in Texas. Lots of hand tooled leather. He does an excellent job and is reasonable priced. However I have to prod him a bit it get it finished.
