Tank repainted black and 2K gloss clearcoat. The chrome side-panels have been polished but could use a complete re-chroming someday, just not today.

Thank you! It's coming along. I used Rustoleum self-etching primer then an "automotive" gloss black from Advanced Auto Parts (or Duplicolor Ultra Silver Mica depending on the part), then Eastwood's 2K gloss clearcoat on the tank, well cover, headlamp and chain guard for extra shine and protection from fuel and chips. All rattle cans in a propane-preheated paint booth I made out of 3/4" PVC and plastic.

I didn't do as well with the rear fender because for some reason I couldn't avoid wrinkling in several places even after repainting it twice, but I wasn't ready to dive in to HVLP painting just yet.

This week I test-fitted new TEK shocks (don't worry, I kept the old ones in case I change my mind about originality) as well as my newly painted pieces to see how they're coming. I also ordered four original CB350 turn signal fixtures on the cheap. Now I just have to decide on my controls...

I got those $150/pair TEK remote reservoir shocks installed. They are sized for a CB350, so they ride 1/2" higher than stock when uncompressed, but settle into a more normal-looking height when loaded. They're also stiffer than stock and provide so much more dampening than the spring-only set that came with the bike, so I'm looking forward to taking them for a spin.

(Purists shouldn't click the link below!)

I also received those CB350 turn signals and they are a little bigger than anticipated but should work well. They are BRIGHT when lit up - wow. They'll make the bike safer to ride, as long as I'm not brutally beaten for mixing model equipment. :-) Have mercy on me please - I'm a little self conscious due to a deep respect to you guys keeping the stock history alive, and I am keeping all of the factory components in a box unmolested in case I or anyone else wants to go back to the factory look.

Next up, painting the front fork "gaiters", installing the front turn signal lights, putting on a freshly-painted front fender and wiring up the repainted headlight and fully-working instrument cluster.

Hi:
I'm wondering where you ordered your set of headers and mufflers?
I am in need of changing the headers on my '66.
Thanks!
Regards,
Kevin.
