Beautiful job. That's my dream bike since I first saw one in the early 60's. Love the red color and short bars.

Dave

Thanks for posting those. Alan is a great guy.

Another beautiful restoration. I like the red ones. I have a few surplus parts from his racer. :-)

Great looking bike Al. A credit to the builder. Nice shed! Did Wendy build it? .Bri.

Hi Randy, the racer is Al's old CB72/350 that he raced as a 250 in the late sixties. He traded it for some Mini parts from Eddie Roberts and Eddie started his racing career with it. Eddie went on to be a fairly successful racer and I believe he now is involved with British Superbikes and Pirelli. He finally had a chance to get the bike back from old mate Donny Williams's widow. Donny was a sidecar passenger of some note a few years ago and was Al's best mate, until an industrial accident took him a couple of years ago.
It had a Read titan kit in the engine and the old standard four speed. When I think of the stuff we threw away when we built it, Oh Boy!!! I remember Al putting his foot under the engine when it fell off the workbench one day. Very funny for me, not so funny for him. I think he broke a toe. The main thing was that it didn't damage the engine.
He is going to get it up and running for display purposes one day.
I know all this because he is my identical twin who lives in England. I went to UK last year to help him build bikes. Long way to go, but it's as good a reason as any to see him and drink his beer and wine.
Brian
