darboots - 1961 CA77 from boxes

Well, I've finally made a start on putting together the boxes of bits that are supposed to make up a complete bike. It's an early CA77 (1961) with close frame and engine numbers, so I have no reason to not suspect they were matched from new.

I had the engine bolted into the frame at the end of last week, but have since removed the frame from the engine to work on the lower frame parts (rubber flap, peg bracket, centre stand, etc.). Straight into snag number one... The metal plate for the rubber flap seems to be missing, and I need to find the centre stand spacer (and straigthen the mounts).

CMSNL has the mudguard holder, part no. 0314-259-000, for 12 euros. Do you have the rubber mudguard?

Thanks Seadog. Yes, I did see that they had them.

I do have the rubber mudguard (and the front fender mudguard), so am surprised that I can't find the original mudguard holder in amongst my (eight) boxes of bits. I really need to sort through each box so that I can see just what I am missing. There are many new bits that the PO had bought from CMSNL such as screws, bolts, washers and seals, etc.

I do know that I am missing the airbox cover plate and tool tray, along with the carb intake rubber and front fender rubber damper and type 255 rear lamp lens and light unit. Typically, some of the most difficult bits! Having said that, I do have a number of duplicate parts that I'll move on once assesed. :)

You say 1961.
Would you share your frame number with the forum?. ..............lm

Sure, it's frame 'CA77-10590' and engine 'CA77E-110605'.

So, I found the mudguard bracket in amongst a box of bolts. No need for a new one there.

However, I've noticed that I'm missing various bushes for the swingarm, and front and rear suspension. Does anyone know where I can get the swingarm bushes (Honda Part No 52119-250-000 I believe)? (I've looked at CMSNL and David Silver Spares.) Is there an alternative part? (I don't have the skill or equipment to make these myself.)

Cheers,
Darren.
