What about the cap. Real weird and says" not vented" Probably a catch all that happened to Fit?

you're right LM. When I go around the tank with a magnet It's clear that in the areas that would have been filled in there is noticeable less pull on the magnet than the other areas. hope I can salvage the fuel cock. Any tricks to undoing to bottom, pot metal part, without destroying it?

Bout all I can recommend is plenty of release type liquid before you take a wrench to it. .........lm
