Hello 305 members
Today I stumbled across what I believe is a 64' CB77 based on the VIN. Both are 7 digits and are 105XXXX series.
I pulled it from a garage and was told it has not moved in 25 years. This is my first restoration and am eager to get going but like others have encountered, the engine is seized. I'm going to try WD40 or mystery oil before pulling it off the bike and using heat.

I think all the parts are there which is good. I'll post pics once I trim the size down.

Are there any Canadian/Greater Toronto Area members on this forum?

More like a 1967. .............lm

Thanks LM. I noticed a label on part of the wiring harness that notes 1966 as well. I thought it was a 64 based on a previously posted vin chart but I was wrong.

That tag is good for the year of the harness and the numbers you don't show will help with early or late of the year. ..................lm

I finally found some time to add some pictures for you all to see sorry for the delay.

Today I was able to turn the engine over using the kick pedal but only when the clutch handle was engaged. As soon as I let up on the clutch the kick pedal wouldn't move. I'm not sure what to do next?

You weren't turning the engine over when kicking the bike over with the clutch handle lever pulled in, you're just turning the main shaft. Normally, on a functioning 305, when you kick the bike over (without squeezing the clutch handle), the low gear on the countershaft via the kick spindle turns the main shaft, which turns the clutch basket which turns the primary chain drive which turns the crank via the primary drive sprocket. Look at a parts diagram and you'll see what I mean. What you are experiencing tells me that at least your clutch plates aren't stuck to the friction disks.
