No the mustang is My Fiancee's , it's a 66 as well and makes a nice background for the bike. I just get to maintain and fix the car.

Got some time to work on the bike today, tank is now cleaned up, adjusted timing, valves and put in new plugs. Its started up quickly but would not run well. Put a timing light, got timing fine tuned and it idles very smooth now, only time will tell if it pulls ok. Got the warped friction plates replaced and clutch adjusted. Been raining and storming for days so no ride so I am going to start in on the brakes, they work but are sticking a bit, probably old grease or grime( at least I hope).

As the bike appears to be 1966 (front forks) did you replace the friction dis (cush drive) with the same type?. .........lm

I got 2 22201-268-020 plates from my local honda dealer. I would have gotten a whole set but they only were able to locate 2. They looked identical to the ones in there and were the exact same size. The only 2 plates that were warped were the first 2 in the clutch and the metal plates were fine.

With that said, I am having a issue that I noticed today when cold starting the bike. It really seems to cold start with the left cylinder Dominant. The right seems to be popping a bit. after a few minutes it comes to life and seems fine, idles very smooth and no popping, it revs up well also but have not rode it yet as still storming. I thought maybe a ignition issue and when its running I am getting a bit of arching on the points. I filed them nice and flat and cleaned them well but it did not seem to make a difference. Its been a long time since I worked on a points bike and was just wondering how much arcing is normal. I set the timing with a bulb and then fine tuned it with a timing light and the timing is dead on.

Any thoughts on why the right side is slow to get going?

Thanks in advance.
