Hello!

This is my first post. My wife and I bought a 1963 CA95 Benly 150 yesterday. It runs but needs some love. The headlight doesn't work, the tires are cracking and the rear tire has a slow leak. I've read a little about retrofitting the headlight with a replaceable bulb and changing the wiring from 6v to 12v. We may try that so we can hopefully get some turn signals on it too. Are there any good sources for seat repair? The aluminum trim is missing of course.

I love this bike, it's like riding a time machine.

Thanks!!

Martskin,

That is an historic bike you have!

Seems like too much work for minimal benefits to change to 12 V. Why not keep it original? With luck, one 6 V headlight will last a lifetime.

I use arms for turn signals, but admit a flashing light can add some safety factor.

Enjoy your Benly,

Thanks redblk63!

We found a good thread on fourwheelforum that walked us through a sealed beam headlight mod. So I found a 6volt bulb and socket and got it working for $7! Ha! We're gonna hold off on the 12volt upgrade for now and just go with hand signals.

Thanks!
