Air compressor Questions

I've used my reliable Craftsman 2 hp compressor for 30 years now and it's never let me down but I just bought a blast cabinet and I know I'm going to need something bigger. Besides my Craftsman has an alum pump and is pretty shot and I don't want to blow junk into my new sandblast cabinet. I am probably going to get a PUMA 60 gallon because of what I've read of the specs, but, I noticed for 200 dollars more I can get a two stage with a 40 gallon tank. I plan on doing a bit of sand blasting. Does anyone have anything advice about a two stage compressor?
Thanks
Steve

A two stage compressor is always a better choice, update to one of those and you will be amazed at how much more you can do.

I just replaced mine with the 60gl upright from Lowes. Cost just under $400.My old one was the
same size and I used it for painting, blasting, blast cabinet, tools, ect for almost 20 years. The electric
motor failed and was about half the price of a new compressor. The tank size along with recovery
time is what you want. Just a tip on the blast cabinet, don't scrimp on the water separator. I even
added 2 dip legs with drains near the cabinet.
