CB, CL, XL 100, 125 Chain Guard Question

I need to make a metal chainguard for my S90. The plastic original is good, but cracking at mounting points so I'm going to retire it and go with a metal one for events like the Motogiro.

I think that a CB 125 or it's siblings uses a chain guard that might fit. I've looked at them on fleabay and they look very similar. I can made the necessary mods to make it fit, but was wonderin if it might not just bolt on or be very close to bolting on.

Can someone with one of these bike please give me a few dimensions?

Distance from center of front outer mounting hole to center of rear mounting hole.

Distance from center of front inner mounting hole to center of rear mounting hole.

Overall length of the guard.

If anyone has one they are willing to part with, please let me know. It can be ugly, but no cracks or dents please. It will get bead blasted and painted red to match my bike.

Thanks,
Rob

cl90 and s90 use the same chainguard, but the cl is a metal version. direct bolt on. I just looked and I have one , but the rear mount tab is broken off. you can have it for shipping cost if you don't mind a simple welding job.
Good luck

Randy, you da man!!! Fixing that tab is a minor detail. I probably would have had to modify the 125 guard to fit anyway.

Yes, I'll accept your very generous offer. Let me know what the shipping costs are and I can pay you via PayPal or check, your choice.

I'll PM you with the shipping details.

Thanks and regards,
Rob

Just thought I'd do a follow up. Randy sent me not one, but two chain guards. It turns out that they are not for an S90, but over the last two days, I've modified one to fit.

So, thanks again, Randy.

Rob

I jusr realized I posted this in "other twins" and really should have posted it in Early bikes. Anyway, this is the last post unless somebody has a question.

Chain Guard is done. The paint came out so nice that I actually had to knock down the shine with polishing compound so it would blend in with the rest of the paint on the bike.

For those who might be interested, Duplicolor Hi-Temp Engine paint in Chrysler Industrial Red Duplicolor code 1632 is a perfect match for the red used on 1960’s Hondas like our S90 bikes. And if you bake the part at 200F for a couple of hours, it will be rock hard when you take it out.

So here’s the finished guard.

Here is the bracket I had to build from scratch. The shock clearance recess and a repair crack are under that bracket.

Thanks again to Randy for his generosity.

Nice work! Good tip on the paint, too. Not sure my wife would take too kindly to me using the oven, though. :-)
