Just Plain Forgot
Just Plain Forgot
On the 305 cylinder head cover you have the base gasket, metal plate, and top gasket with corresponding cut out holes for the plate. Which way should the holes be facing during assembly, toward the front of the motor/exhaust or rear/carbs. Damn if I can find it in any of my manuals and I just plain forgot to document this during the tear down.

Re: Just Plain Forgot
Install the plates as:
One which has the middle cut out
Metal plate with small holes toward the exhaust
One that is solid the same as metal plate. ...........lm
