the kick starter ca77 (1965) --I can pull it toward the front of the bike while in neutral. will not go back into place...until i pull clutch...goes back to 11:00. while in gear, with clutch pulled or not...if i m ove the bike backwards....the kick starter goes forward...

any thoughts???

Sounds to me like it isn't starting off from its proper parked position, fully c/w. The pawl is forced to disengage once the shaft quadrant reaches the correct start point.

yeah,...took some brain ergy and appled it to figuring out that the spring is designed to make the ks return to upright.....duh.....thanks fr the reply though...
