Left cylinder late to fire then blows black
my cb77 is almost fully finished. Now I have it running but I noticed that the left cylinder is not firing when first starting then when it does it is blowing black smoke. I checked spark plugs and left side was caked in carbon. I timed the points to what my clymber says and still the same problem. There is spark going to the plug. I'd also like to add that I have no air fliters yet and have not fully tuned the carbs. But even with that being said the right cylinder is not having any issues. Also, did check inside the piston through the spark plug hole and it is not oil on top of the piston. Any ideas ?
black
is that side running with the choke on?, black smoke is fuel problem, to rich, pulled carb and check every thing needle setting, jet tight, float height, if every thing else is ok timing, compression then its the carb
