Put Tappet Adjust Screw Through Tappet Cover

Has anyone else ever put a tappet adjuster screw through the tappet cover. Made a nice hole before I noticed it.

Where can I purchase new tappet adjuster screws?

How did you achieve that?

It must have been way out of adjustment and clattering loudly unless you had an extra-long adjuster screw in there......

I would give Western Hills Honda, or Ohio Cycle a try. I pulled an engine apart once that had marks on the inside of the tappet covers from one of the screws hitting it. Yeah, I can see how it would happen.

This happens when ya adjust the cams when the lobs are not at the correct "T" or "LT". ........lm
