Help me identify this mystery part from the right side case

Post by jas67 » Sun Aug 14, 2016 10:02 pm

I had this left over part after having the right side case apart to replace the rollers and springs in the starter sprag clutch.

Is this part from this side of the engine, or did I mix something else up?

I don't think it's anything from the right side case, but at first I thought it looked kind of like the seat spring bracket (23942-259-000) from the other side. I don't think it is though.

check the screw threads for size. If they don't match any other common threads on the bike then you can probably be assured that it doesn't belong on the bike.

Don't you just hate finding a mystery part laying around?

Un- recognised part

I think you will find it is the seat lock cover off a BMW R series motorcycle.
