Camshaft Bearings

Is there a secret "DIY" method to removing and installing the bearings onto the camshafts?
Or is this something that needs to be taken to the shop.

Unfortunately, I cannot locate any information on how it's done. I have my ideas, but before I spend $$ on tools, I thought I'd ask. Thanks in advance.

Camshaft in the freezer. Warm the bearings gently. If they don't slip on, Just tap them on with a hollow socket or piece of pipe that contacts only the central part of the bearing, not the outer.

G-Man, thanks. To remove the old bearings, do you heat the bearing and tap out the cam?

A bit of heat will help but if you are going to scrap the bearing it doesn't matter if you hold the outer race ( in the vise ) and tap the shaft through with a brass drift. If you are ever going to reuse the bearing, putting impact through the balls should be avoided.
