What do ya'll recommend for cleaning the plates of a sticky clutch on a 1967 Dream?
I notice last summer that after sitting for a couple of weeks that I would have to "break the clutch free" before riding. After sitting all winter, she's stuck GOOD so I am going to have to take it apart this time and give it a good scrub but WHAT WITH?
I know I should probably replace all the plates but maybe later - it is time to RIDE right now!

Mine were the same way.....by the time I got mine pried apart and cleaned with brake cleaner the friction material was flaking off, and I figured it wasn't good to have that floating around in the oil!DianneB wrote:I got new friction plates for my clutch and put them in today (after thorough cleaning).
The old plates were stuck together so hard that I had to pry them apart with a screwdriver!
I think someone added Crazy Glue to my oil LOL!
Got a good used set of metal type from LM and was good to go.
