Different RH Engine Covers for CB77

Post by Rainman » Thu Jun 11, 2020 4:03 pm

Hello Everyone,

I sold my '65 CA77 to a good friend a couple of years ago and have wanted another Honda 305 since. I found one on eBay, non-running and with a cracked RH side cover. The seller included a NOS side cover, but it is not the same as the one that came on the bike. The slots for the clutch joint are different. The slot on the cover that was on the bike originally is further forward, and the slot for the clutch joint is a approximately 18 mm wide. The NOS replacement cover's slot is further back and is approximately 14 mm wide. From what I've read the NOS cover is earlier and requires a different clutch joint. The original clutch joint was angled, it looks like the NOS stock one would require a straight one. CMS shows a straight one but I'm not sure of the dimensions and from their picture it looks like the straight clutch joint's slots don't go all the way through.

Does anyone know which clutch joint would work with this side cover?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Rainman
