somebody stop me
I have decided I want the evenness of a 180 degree crank 305 engine(cl/cb). Can I swap parts to change my 1962 360 degree 305 engine into what I want or am I better off to source a cb engine? What of my parts will work if any? Thanks Greener.
180 vs 360 crank
Evenness? The trade will probably just give you a different vibration.
Crank, cams and ignition system are different. Head, too if you want two carbs, but it won't fit without alteration of the frame on a Dream or fabbing some spacers.
Search this site. Others have discussed/done it. Before you get carried away, I would contact them to see what issues they encountered.

RE: somebody stop me
The last time I rebuilt a 305 motor, I got the pistons and connecting rods matched (they carefully match the weight) by a local machine shop. It usually is not very expensive, and did seem to help reduce the vibration.
