Post by blee49 » Mon Mar 16, 2020 10:49 pm

Hey, bought a 1965 305 dream the head light rim was lose on the bottom side and the large screw was missing. got the right screw, I tried to get the chrome rim back on but I'm having a hell of a time. I put the top in first but the bottom will not go flush tried the botton first and the top will not come flush. tried for a hour !!!! is there a trick to get it on right ? WTF

IIRC, it snaps in place on the bottom edge, so you have to smack the bottom in place with the palm of your hand or maybe a rubber hammer.

I always worried I would jar the filament in the sealed beam loose, so not too much.

Thanks for your tips, hook the top in first and an give it a good hit on the bottom with the palm of my hand, pop right in and added the big screw....none !!!!
