Bulletproof motor?

Seperated the head from the cylinder on motor CL77E-1065793 last night and discovered one of the knock pins (90707-259-000) seemed just a tad loose. Lifted it out and laughed for 5 minutes. See photo. Also discovered why they may have used a substitute as I havn't been able to find a NOS replacement yet.

9mm Luger!!! Exactly how old is that motor?

Maybe someone got REALLY mad at it ...

It's been sitting a while. It has ART 1.0 over CB pistons and I get the impression those may not have been around since the 80's. Looks like it was abandoned not too long after a rebuild as everything so far is in very good conditon for a Scrambler with 22,000 miles on it.

wow thats epic...
Ive had days where ive considered taking my 30 odd 6 or 12 guage to the motor too... But ive never actually followed through with it!

Ahhh, crafty tech used a bullet casing for a barrel sleeve. Impressive! lol You can have one made at a local machine shop I'm sure. Or buy that cool lathe From Harbor Freight and see if it can make one for you! 8-) Either way, that casing is a keeper. Part of the bikes history now.
