Carb issues?

Post by KellieLyyne » Fri Jan 27, 2012 10:46 pm

Today I took my newly restored Dream out for a 50+ bike ride with my father in law (he rides a fully dressed HD) and we kept it pretty much on back roads due to my inability to keep up with him. I have two issues, one, my clutch plates are slipping, and I have purchased some replacement clutch springs and friction plates. Two, everytime I went up a decent sized hill, my bike acted as though it was running out of gas, it would cut out, then rev, cut out, then rev, and once I hit the crest of the hill, and started to decend, the bike ran great again. I was thinking that maybe it was a fuel issue (float issue maybe). Any ideas?

Kellie, the gas tank might not be venting enough, try loosening the gas cap and see if it responds. This was a malady I faced with my Scrambler, don't really know if it applies to yours............................D

I will try it, sounds simple enough to at least try. Let's hope its that easy!
