CB77 Superhawk Aftermarket Headlight

Post by ChromeSuperhawk » Sun Dec 02, 2018 5:06 pm

I have a 1967 Superhawk that I'm looking to upgrade the lighting on. Has anyone tried to install aftermarket LED headlight in the original headlight bucket? What are some turn signals that would be recommended? My CB77 is mostly OE, but I'm not really worried about the lights being modern for visibility and current draw benefits. Thanks for the help.

Use a European headlamp reflector which has replacement bulbs. You can use whatever bulb you wish, then.

Hi G, the replaceable bulb style units that I used to obtain from Candlepower here in the US were called 162mm (6-3/8") diameter. They did fit just a bit on the loose side in the CB72/77 stock rim. Do these 7" (177mm) units fit without rim issues? Regards, Chase

Chase

That is a standard Honda (Stanley) unit that was supplied for all European market CB72/77.

Got it. I was looking further down the page at the Wipac Lucas replacement lens that would fit a rim with a 169mm opening. Thanks, Chase

Hi Chase

For some reason, a number of NOS replaceable bulb headlamp units have come up in the last year. I managed to buy a couple.

Some really good to know info. I am glad I happened to come over here, to see if there was any decent activity gong on here, besides the scammers. Glad I made the effort. Bill
