Wait, wait, wait! Pointy part goes up! ? And "springie" part goes down ridding on float tang!?
That means the numb-nut who "rebuilt" the carb before I got the bike put that back in upside-down!
Thank you so much you guys. I will be fixing that problem tomorrow.

honda ca77 carb
I have the same problem with gas very slowly dripping in the drain tube. I rebuilt the carb correctly set the float with a float tool and still leaks. The carb kit is from Keyster and also replaced the float. Im' going to try removing the carb and replace the neetle and seat with a factory one and recheck the new float. Any ideas?
This is not rocket science. The float moves up and down as more fuel is needed. When the float bowl is full the float pushes a small needle against the seat and stops fuel flow. The only possible causes are -
Float level set way to high
The needle or seat is bad allowing a leak
The floats are full of fuel and not "floating"
A small piece of "crap" from the tank is stuck in or around the seat not allowing seating.
Take the carb off - Remove the float bowl - attach the gas line to the carb - very gently push the float up until it seats - turn the gas on. If the fuel stops needle and seat are okay. So its float level or floats full of fuel. If it doesn't stop the needle and seat are bad or there is a piece of crap in the seat.
Note it is not uncommon for floats to fill with fuel and not work. Shake them and listen.
