Thanks for the input.
I just spent a few hours trying to kick it over after getting spark, and nothing!
The petcock bowl fills with fuel (a bit leaky), which seems to be running down the gas line into the carb (which I rebuilt).
I checked timing and the spark plug fires right on the 'F' Mark on the rotor, and the only way I can get it to turn over is for a second when I put a bit of fuel directly into the top end thru the plug holes. (I did this hoping it'd kick over long enough to suck fuel down into it)
But it only burns the bit in there and then doesn't seem to respond to kicks at all.
Bummer. Back to the drawing board.
IGNITION COIL
Blocked slow jet (holes are really small)? Blow out ALL the carb passages with compressed air? Fuel "seems" to be running into the carb? Drop the bowl and make sure,.
Hi Garn,
I did drop the bowl and checked for fuel in there, and there was a small amount running around the needle area, especially when I teased the float up and down, but the bowl definitely wasn't full of gas. So you think it may be a clogged main jet. I'll get a can of compressed air and give the carb a run thru. Thanks!
