I'm SO glad you said that! I didn't know where that was supposed to go and I hate having parts left over! Makes me nervous - especially dealing with stuff involving fuel! Thank you!

Wow, you guys made a lot of progress last night. I'm not sure that the air tube being short was every figured out. I see Brewsky editted his post so Kigsby's reply is probaby not appropriate anymore.

Is the carb length the reason the air tube is short?

regards,
Rob

Well I did find out that ironangel (who has the same carb as me) measured his air tube and his tube is the same length as mine - 9 1/4 inches not 8 1/2 which was the length of the new tube I had bought (and have since returned). I will probably end up ordering one from another vendor just to see if there's a difference.

to answer brewsky's question earlier, no I have never had any problems with my carb, when driven it has always worked fine.carb was on the bike when I got it about 40 years ago.I might add that the air tube also fits good, which measures 9 1/4 inches across the spine...jk

Kigs, I appreciate all your posts. I know as someone who is just learning about the Dreams, how hard it is to ask for help in the first place. Im sure all the experts will gladly help out when they can. It sure would be a shame for this knowledge to get lost and forgotten one day when we all keel over! Anytime you have a question, you can always PM me. I know there are others who do not mind as well. IF I know the answer I will help if not, I can always forward you to someone who helped me (you know who you are lol !)

I am so impressed that as a lady, you are taking charge and teaching yourself how to fix your own bike, instead of relying on someone else to do it for you.... KUDOS to you!
