my science fair project
how'd it go mike? im on to the dream tank and ugghhhh, its got some sort of liner in there thats really clinging on in big sheets. the hawk tank has been sitting, in need of some screw/nut/bolt/nail shaking though, i was wondering about that black stuff too. good looks dog. the whole process works great but i still feel like it needs a por treatment............?

CA78 65? CB77 65? Some methyl ethyl ketone, or MEK should do the trick on getting the liner out. I picked mine up at an Ace Hardware. Let it soak for a while (48 hours), and adding bolts and what not to periodically shake during the soak will aid greatly.
DO NOT let it touch ANY paint. Otherwise it's done for.

The shaking was air tight for me. It was the pouring of things. There always seem to be an inevitable drip or two.

I just used the gas cap. It was incredibly tight trying to remove. Possibly expanding gasses from from the reaction with the liner. It was an aftermarket cap, so I don't know how much of a difference there is if you have OEM.
