Snice this is my first post. I guess I need to introduce myself. Names Brian, Ive been a longtime forum stalker. I couldn't resist replying when I saw this thread. This is my second SH. My other one is a restored red '65... I'll post pics of that bike later.

The story with this bike. Sellers father purchased new, she is actually a 1964 going by the wire harness. Looks to have been stored in a barn in Ohio. Father passed and it went to his son where it made its way to Baltimore around 2007. Tank badges are original and flawless bakelites!! The only thing I can see missing at this point are the grab handle and tool kit :( Grab handle missing because the bike had hard bags on it at some point. It's all there and a true white superhawk. I have taken everything off in an attempt to find a respray. Its all white..even the tank hold down. Tank was 1/4 full with 20+ year old gas= a rusty mess. Curently cleaning tank up. Wire harness is not hacked up. I plan to keep this as original as I can. After all they are only original once. The winkers are off (period aftermarket) The high bars will be difficult to keep. I'm not a fan.

Congratulations. I just bought my first Superhawk about a month ago in California. Got it from the son of the original owner with 7300 miles on it. Sat since 1978, but apparently indoors, so it is in good shape. Tank was completely rusted inside and petcock had almost hard tar-like rust/gas plugging it up. I had to drill out the tar stuff. By the way, mine is original white also. 1967.

I noticed you are on the Moto Melle Yahoo group as well. Is the going to be your Melee bike? I rode my cafe CB77 on last year's Melee.

Davo - Yes. I'll send you an email directly. The investment required to get a Lambretta melee-ready didn't make sense.

Congrats Pelayo!! Very nice looking find. I was checking out your pics and it looks like the tank is cleaning up nice. Mine was an absolute mess. 4 treatments of Muriatic acid and it still had varnish in spots. The POR15 kit cleaned up the rest and now it looks bran new.

Lets see if I figured out this picture attachment thing...

Here's a before and after of the tank. I can't say enough about how awesome the POR15 kit is. I used it on my red 65' CB77. A little time consuming but well worth the results.

So at the risk of this turning into a restoration thread. After tracking down the proper T series key (many thanks to Mark at Hondakeys.com for his help) all the electrics work! I was starting a tune up in preparation for the first fire up. Found I wasn't getting spark on the right cylinder. Points were set correctly, good plugs ect. Turns out the right side coil is bad. I was doubting it since these coils are nearly bulletproof. Swapped it out with a spare and ba-zinga! we have spark! Guess this could be the reason the bike has so low miles? Also the carbs have been rebuilt, new air filters and intake pipes.
