Clutch problems - tried everything (I know of)

The adjusters on the lever and the case are all the way in.

I am thinking the PO used the wrong cable or rerouted it wrong.

The cable comes out of the lever and takes a sharp down turn and goes under the tank on the same side as the lever and then down to the box.

That seems like too quick a turn. And could be the problem.

If I routed the front brake cable like that, it would lock up the brake every time I turned the bike.

Shouldn't the route be across the tree and down on the side opposite the lever? Ie, the same side as the case mounting?

assuming you have the correct length cables, those photos do a good job of showing where the cables should be routed.

Ok, perhaps I am am missing what your seeing, but I don't see a single picture of the clutch cable in those photos.

I am going to try and upload a photo here, in case it sheds any light.
