I'm going to try to get a ride in with a GoPro (like, it's a GoPro copy) video camera, maybe today. I'm trying to decide where to mount the camera - on my helmet, on the handlebars, somewhere else on the bike....I'm looking forward to messing around with that! I will post a link to the video when I get it done.

Hi Sarals,
Just watched the video of your old running. Sounds very loose and running well! Looking forward to your Go Pro video.
I have just got mine running again after rebuilding the engine and it sounds a bit tighter but it is early days. I had it out last weekend but had to curtail the ride early as it lost power. It felt like a fuel problem and the fuel tap filter seemed to have some gel like contamination which I cleaned off. After cooling done it bit, the engine started again and it ran fine thereafter. Further fine tuning needed.
I too have had difficulty in getting the steering bearings adjusted properly. When too loose, there is a horrible clunk when hitting a bump. Too tight and the handling is affected. Does anyone in this fine forum have a process for getting it right first time?
All part of the fun of owning a classic Honda 305!
All the best.

Here is the promised video:

A little bit about it. The speedometer isn't working! It was yesterday, not today. I checked the cable after the ride, and it's fine. So, the problem is likely the gage. I'm going to have to pull the unit out and send it to Foreign Speedo, I guess. That's something I didn't want to do. But, it has to work, and I really don't feel like ripping into that gage cluster again.
I'll take the bike out for a longer ride, perhaps this evening.
Enjoy!

speedo cable
Measure it and let me know the length of the cable. ..................lm
sarals wrote:Well, the speedometer stopped working because the drive cable broke, about 1/3 of the way from the top. That's better than the speedo itself failing! It's usually the simple thing, isn't it? Now, I need to find a speedometer cable.
