Regardless of the threat of rain, it was a great day. Not as many people as last year, just us die hard's who braved the weather, which, it turns out, was plenty enough. 1st place went to a CA77 with windshield, Buco Rocket saddlebags and a trunk box. Although I'm not so sure that trunk box, although it is a Honda piece, is actually a "period" piece. Anybody recognize it?
2nd place went to a red CB160. I didn't get a picture of it, but you can kinda see the front of it 2 Dreams down from my CB77 in "Classic Row". And my little pride and joy took 3rd!
Lots of interesting bikes though, including Hodakas, Bridgestones and Rockfords. Perhaps one of the most interesting was the 1951 Honda D-Type, purportedly the oldest Honda in the U.S.. A 98cc 2 stroke single with a 2 speed transmission and telescopic forks, it was Hondas first true motorcycle, though it was never exported to the States. Check out the close up of the emblem. The English wording hints at Honda's future export plans.(/Dreams?)
