New to your group and I have a serial # question. I acquired 2
C(A)77's and one CA72 recently. They took me back to my early years and I had
to have them. You know what I mean!! One frame CA78-102223, engine
CA77E-102241 titled as a 1964 looks good on the frame and engine #s being
close togather and per Mr. Silvers book shows the 1964's started with
10XXXX. Another frame C78-1006743, engine C77E-1006902 are also close
numbers and is titled as a 1960. The book starts at 1961. Do these #'s
work out as a 1960 model? Last frame CA72-311861, engine CA72E-311568,
titled as a 1966. The book shows 1965-1967 as having 7 digits not 6
like mine. Unable to see "white tag" on wire looms. Also what
constitutes "early" or "late"? Input appreciated
Serial # question
Re: Serial # questionPer Mr. Silver's book, the 102223 is a '64, 1006743 is a '65 or later, and 311861 is a '63. Early and late kind of just depends on the parts. Oilleak
