dppeter, I want to weigh in about those dunstal type j.c. whitney pipes too. I put a set on my last CB77 and like you was very happy with them. There not just like the originals but alot more affordable and look perty cool ! Steve Greer

Beautiful

Looks beautiful. I just picked one up myself. Any tips on cleaning up the engine in addition to the rest of the body?

I'm really motivated to get it as clean as that. Attached is a preliminary photo of it next to a friend's bike. Its a 62' with just over 8k.

The only thing you may want to keep an eye on is the mounting channel on those EMGO Dunstall pipes. I had three of them break where the hanger would attach to the channel on the back of the muffler. It would be an easy fix, though...

Spargett, I live 90 miles south of you, welcome to the forum. July 26/27, the CJMC show and swap, is happening over in Auburn, Ca. if you want to see lots of vintage jap bikes, and a bunch of into it people, check it out! I don't know if I'll go for sure, yet. As far as cleaning, use a tooth brush and test different thing like Joy soap, comet clenser, wd40, carb spray. Main thing is go slow, so you don't mess it up, Navel jelly works to loosen rust, where rubber gloves, use a tooth brush and water keep, becarefull on chrome it will stain it if you leave to long. Don't pressure wash to much, as it drives water in places it is not good.

Another thing on cleaning, you can pull stuff off like wheels, seat, side covers, this makes it easier to get hidden stuf off.
