Clutch spring tension setting

Post by Blakey » Fri Oct 20, 2006 7:38 pm

G'Day All

One of the many things I have never been able to find is the correct setting for the clutch springs tension.
Is it like some others where you screw down the spring bolts a predetermined number of turns or are the bolts just screwed home?
What brings me to the question is that the effort to pull the clutch lever seems more than other similar bikes.
Mine has always been thus with old or new cables and lubrication, it all functions well apart from this.
I suppose what I want to find out is the adjustment setting and is the 'strong' hand of it the norm for the CB77?

Cheers! .......... Blakey

Tighten the 4 bolts to a good tight feeling. ...........lm

Well, then, follow LM's instructions(above), but use your left hand so it can get some excercise for using that lever!

(I was going to make a humorous reference to "get y'self a nice Sheila, so's not ta favor the right so much" but I'll refrain. Oops, guess I did it anyway!)

My answer was the correct way to tighten the 4 bolts.
All the way to the bottom then good and firm. ...........lm
