Newbie big time to the Honda Dream fan club

Post by Ranger4219 » Fri Dec 01, 2006 3:36 pm

Hello all actually looks like I am going to pick up my first classic bike. 66 Dream in nice shape in black. Been a few years since I road but its just like riding a bike you never forget. All the down for 1st right? LOL

I have seen on the site so far some pics of Superhawks and Dreams do we have a section or archive that can explain the differences between a CA77 and CB77. Maybe I am not learned as of yet to see the differences between the two. Unless I am looking at the same pics?

I tried a few different wordings in search fields but to no avail.

Again looking forward to learning alot about this bike. I think they the dream is very cool looking especially the white wall tires. I know its no speed demon. I am hoping me and my wife can enjoy riding it together.

The picture you posted is indeed a CA77. It has a steel stamped, and welded frame. One carb, a 360 crank ( both pistons up and down at the same time), leading link type fork, 16" wheels, etc.

The CB72/77Superhawk has a steel tubular frame, two carbs, a 180 crank, conventional tube slider fork, 18" wheels, and a few more things.

More info.

The CL72/77 Scrambler had a full steel tubular frame, no electric start, a 180 crank, ( I think a 360 in some of the later ones), slider forks, 19" wheels, high pipe exhaust out one side and a few more things to make it more Scrambler-ish.

Oh and yes you and your wife can ride it together, I have, but not all that far. We rode it 40 miles round trip one night on our anniversary.

Nice Dream you've got there, and welcome to the board.

My Dream fell threw. Off to hunt for another one. If not the SuperHawks look pretty cool too what was there production years and numbers? Are they harder to find then the Dreams?
